Villa Nabila - a haunted bungalow on a hill

I came across the story about this interesting structure on another blog sites.
Istana Bukit Serene
Istana Bukit Serene on Bukit Serene, Johor

If you go to Johor (a southern state in Malaysia just the opposite of Singapore), you won't missed a beautiful stretch of beach called Danga Bay, Tanjung Puteri. Just opposite Danga Bay, you will see a hilly area which belongs to the Sultan of Johor, an area called Bukit Serene.
Villa Nabila

Istana Bukit Serene is the royal palace and official residence of the Sultan of Johor, located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The palace faces the Straits of Johor and has a bird's eye view of Singapore, a former possession of the Sultanate. - Wikipedia

You can see many colonial bungalows, and you won't fail to see the abandoned ones. One of those is the famous Villa Nabila.

Why do I say that it is famous? Just to try to Google and you will definitely get many sites mentioned about this structure. History has it that the original name of the place is Christine Palace.

It is abandoned for a long time and there are several stories surrounded its mysterious compound.

If you google, you will also find a few 'ghost seekers' have been there and captured some interesting photos (though no ghostly images captured!)

If you want to learn more about Villa Nabila, my favourite site is this site that is written by a reputable Malaysian journalist:

Looking at the photos I found, I believe the structure used to be a very beautiful home. I am posted here some of the photos I 've got from other sites.

Villa Nabila - compound
These are some of the stories as written by several sources:

Story 1 : There was a very rich family living in the home. The couple had only one child named Nabila. The parents died from an accident and Nabila, being the only child, inherited all the wealth. She was still very young.

The live-in maid who was caring for her became greedy of what left and one day resorted to kill her before fleeing with several assets.

It is believe that after killing the poor child, the maid buried the remains by cemented the body onto one of the walls.

Story 2 : The rich family who was living there were robed and killed instantly. Nabila, the only child however, were raped and killed, and the body were cemented onto the wall.

Story 3 : The original name of the place is 'Christine Palace', and it was owned by a very rich caucasian businessman.

While constructing the structure, the owner had promised his 6 siblings that he will divide the ownership of the land among them.

However, when the structure completed, he didn't fulfilled his promise which had caused rage among the siblings. The heated disagreement had led to a killing event when one of the siblings sent a killer to take the whole family lives.

They were brutally murdered and the villa had been left unoccupied for more than 70 years as the case is still unsettled.

Whatever it is, this structure remains mysterious until now. If you do have a chance to go to Johor, why not pay a visit, take some pictures and share with us your thoughts and experience.
